Almost the End...

We are nearing the end of our year.  Our 2nd/4th/5th/Choir Concert is behind us (wow! it was great!), and there are about 25 days left in the school year.  How in heavens did that happen?

We're winding down the year with two more brief choir performances.  We also have a brand new ensemble ~ The Boomwhacker Brigade.  A new experience for the teacher as well.

The fifth graders are working on mini-musicals ~ also a new experience.  They are much more excited about it than I am.  I better rev my engines and get in gear!

Even with the end of the school year in sight, I'm already thinking ahead to next year and the possibilities for concerts and performances.

So let's hang on and enjoy the ride!

Added Link

Today I have added a link on my blog.  This blog is available to 4th and 5th grade recorder players.  You can  access "Recorder Dojo" and then practice on your own at home.  This dojo will allow you to hear the songs.

However, in order to access the website, you must have the username and password.  Since I cannot place it on my blog page, you will have to get it from me at school.  Please ask!!  I will be more than happy to give it to you!

Our next concert is not that far away ~ April 16th will feature the 2nd, Carlson/Shook 4th grade, 5th grade, and Choir performances.  Hope that all will be able to attend this spring presentation.

Very First Blog!!

Welcome to Mrs. T's Music Blog!  Not a very creative name, but perhaps with a little more time, I shall come up with something more musical.

This blog will be used to communicate with parents, students, and staff all that is going on in the Manse Elementary School music room.  I also hope to post pictures (with permission) and video of concerts (again with permission).

Music is such a major part of our world.  It is one of those unchanging and ever-changing things.  Music that was popular hundreds of years ago still has a place in our world, in our lives.  And new music is always on the horizon.  Will we ever run out of new songs?  Impossible!

So, for now, I will leave you with the thought:  what would YOUR day be like without music??
